The community-led ACPP board, established by state legislation, has been working to invest in strategies to address displacement caused by development pressures along the corridor. The communities along the corridor include residents and businesses in Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Crystal and Brooklyn Park.
The board launched a $2 million funding phase this fall, a strategic approach to bring urgent relief to impacted communities and help catalyze economic vitality in the corridor.
The funded pilot projects focus on stabilizing small businesses, supporting housing security, and advancing community-centered real estate development. Efforts include direct financial aid, technical assistance, affordable housing preservation, and the creation of new commercial and residential spaces that reflect and serve local communities.
The state Legislature awarded $10 million to fund the ACPP with the goal of preserving and enhancing community vitality by ensuring people in the corridor today are the ones to benefit from the Blue Line Extension Corridor light rail transit project.
